I am very proud that the UCI Diabetes Center has become the fastest growing diabetes center on the West Coast since we established our center two years ago. We are dedicated to preventing diabetes, providing cutting-edge care and advancing science to find a cure. Recently, our researchers have made exciting discoveries that may be used toward better prevention and treatment of diabetes in the future, including novel compounds for potential prevention of type 1 diabetes.

In addition, our endocrinology fellowship training program has become one of the most sought after endocrinology training programs in the western United States. This year alone over one hundred and fifty physicians applied and competed for two training spots

Our clinic was recently recognized as the top diabetes center with the best patient outcomes in a survey among 16 diabetes centers across the United States, including the best average patient hemoglobin A1C! We are also making strides in our education and community outreach programs.

I want to congratulate the center’s faculty and staff, and our patients for making this type of recognition possible.
